LINGO is a new festival of the spoken word to be held in Dublin in October 2014. The brief was to design a logo and all it's associated promotional material. This selection shows the various logo designs up to the final accepted solution, and some applications. This is still a work in progress as far as all the promotional material is concerned. It's an ongoing project.
First solution for a logo. Rejected by client and myself once the brief was clarified. Still a good logo, but for a different sort of festival.
Following that rejection / opportunity, I designed a few more logos.
Too tame, even if the concept of a text based logo could ahve worked well.
This is the one that was chosen, for its strength and simplicty, and also for it's versatility. Following images show the logo used in various initial designs for posters and Facebook banner and avatar.
Logo can be used in various colours, depending on the media and its visual context.
Generic festival poster, without information details. These are yet to be finalised so are not used on this yet.
